Primary PMU Training | NJ Residents

This course is mandatory for anyone wanting to learn permanent makeup procedures and work in the state of New Jersey. Prior experierence or a cosmotology license is not required to take this course.

When you train at BellaMi Academie you are learning skill development through hands-on training while performing permanent makeup procedures such as powder brow, eyelash enhancement, and lip blushing on latex and live models. Completing a permanent makeup course can open up many career opportunities in the beauty and cosmetics industry all while becoming financially independent. Permanent makeup is a form of artistic expression allowing you to enhance people’s natural features and boost their confidence. The field of permanent makeup is continually evolving and you will be able to stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and techniques at BellaMi Academie.

If you plan on working in New Jersey, a 100 Primary Training Course is necessary to work legally as a Practitioner, with completion of 15 model procedures, consisting of 5 brow, 5 eyeliner, and 5 lip tattoo procedures. You do not need a cosmetology or esthetician license to attend this course.

Our courses are designed to give you the confidence you need to work on your own in just a few short months.  During model procedures, our trainers work with students 1:1.  You will never get lost in a sea of students! We have three packages available, each with their own distinct learning style, keeping our students' budgets in mind.

About Our Primary Training Course

Training at BellaMi Academie is a truly comprehensive and student-focused permanent cosmetics program in New Jersey. Former Phi Brows Master Laura Reina takes the time to share her knowledge, skills, and experience with each student. Properly educating future Artists is Master Laura’s first priority. She can communicate the same technique in many different ways, be it visual, written, or verbal. Permanent Cosmetics and Microblading are considered a form of body art. State regulations vary from state to state and even from county to county. Contact your local health department in the area you want to work in before performing any type of cosmetic tattooing procedure.

Hybrid - A mix of in-person & virtual course days
Day 1 is in-person in BellaMi's private training room. Then, select your 4 virtual days to complete the theory portion. Once theory is complete, scheduling of your 15 model services will begin.
Traditional - 100% in-person
With this option, all of your training is in-person. You'll come to the Academie for 3 days of in-depth theory and additional latex practice time, with immediate feedback from your Trainer. Once complete, scheduling of your 15 model services begins.
Basic Course
Over the course of 6 days, you will immerse yourself in permanent makeup theory and model services. This option requires an Apprenticeship to become a Pracitioner.
