If you are planning to work in New Jersey, Permanent Cosmetic Artists are required by the State to be certified by an American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM) program or Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals program (SPCP) under the supervision of a Certified Trainer Member. We will help guide you through the steps to becoming one of New Jersey’s finest Artists:
- 1ST: Complete a 100-hour Primary Training Course with BellaMi.
- 2ND: Complete the New Jersey Apprenticeship Program at BellaMi
- 3RD: Register and take the exam to get Certified.
About Our Primary Training Course
Training at BellaMi Academie is a truly comprehensive and student-focused permanent cosmetics program in New Jersey. Former Phi Brows Master Laura Reina takes the time to share her knowledge, skills, and experience with each student. Properly educating future Artists is Master Laura’s first priority. She can communicate the same technique in many different ways, be it visual, written, or verbal. Permanent Cosmetics and Microblading are considered a form of body art. State regulations vary from state to state and even from county to county. Contact your local health department in the area you want to work in before performing any type of cosmetic tattooing procedure.

The fee per supervised procedure is $400 and is due at the time of scheduling. Supplying your own model for these procedures is best. This is your time to begin building your client list and portfolio.
Once you have completed your Apprenticeship Program, the supervising Trainer will send you a letter confirming you have met the procedure requirements. You will need to submit – directly to the AAM – that letter, along with copies of your Certificate of Completion, before & after photos, Bloodborne Pathogen Certification, a sample of your Client Forms, driver’s license, and malpractice liability insurance.
